THE UNDERWATER PROJECT – MARK TIPPLE

The underwater project: Document life below the surface

Mark is an Australian photographer who went where not too many photographers have been: under the extreme forces of waves.
Well, as you will see very soon, the result of the experience is ‘out of this world’….literally.

I think the pictures are great as they display all the shapes and forms created by the force of waves. For me, these illustrate how the ocean can be many things at the same time; Some of the pictures show total peace, others express fluency, others chaos and others silence. They are just fantastic! I also think that the pictures display in a very realistic way, what a surfer experiences every time they don’t catch a wave and are trashed against the water!

From the photographer: “I’ve always been intrigued by what happens below the surface, like what’s happening where we can’t see.”
